Introducing Myself

I’m excited to have the opportunity to share with you some ideas for how to use the wonderful produce we get each week. My first aim is to share a recipe or idea once a week. My second aim is to only post those recipes that I have personally made and that use SGF produce from the current or previous week. This, I hope, will keep my posts reliable and relevant.

I’ve always been a keen foodie/gardener and in recent years I’ve been making an effort to include more fruit and vegetables in my diet. I grow my own as much as possible, but I am frequently thwarted by Wellington’s gales and cool climate, and an inability to keep up a constant supply over the year. So I’m very grateful to have SGF to fall back on. Typically, I’m cooking for two (just Linton and me) and I tend to be guided by Michael Pollan, Weston Price, and low-GI food philosophies.

I hope this effort lasts longer than my previous attempts at food blogging – mind you, that was back in my student days in 1995 before blogging even existed (if you’re curious, the blog still exists at “What Judi & Linton had for dinner”).

Cheers,

Judi
